For a long time, using wood, gas and other fuels was taken for granted with little questioning, but today, against the backdrop of responsible use of resources and resulting emissions, this should be reconsidered. As a fireplace manufacturer, we are aware of our responsibility, which is why the issue of sustainability is at the forefront of all our processes. Thus, all Spartherm products are manufactured in a particularly resource-conserving manner exclusively in Europe and guarantee you the most modern and innovative combustion technology in the highest quality.

SPARTHERM® PRODUCTS USE VARIOUS FUELS EFFICIENTLY AND EFFECTIVELY

A top priority of our fireplaces is to make maximum efficient use of all fuels - from wood to gas to bioethanol. We achieve this through technologies, innovation and efficient construction. In addition, an effective use of the released energy is close to our heart. For some of our products, you will therefore find adaptive or integrated heat storage as well as water heat exchangers, so that the heat generated can be used in all rooms. In addition, all our current fireplaces comply with the regulation of the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchV), which is one of the strictest environmental laws for wood burning in Europe.

EFFICIENTLY & EFFECTIVELY

A Spartherm wood stove not only offers extremely efficient combustion, but also independence and security of supply. As a CO₂-neutral fuel, wood only releases as much CO₂ during combustion as it has previously absorbed from the atmosphere, and is available regionally in Germany. However, it is important to pay attention to sustainable forestry and the reduction of particulate emissions, for example through proper wood storage, air supply regulation and correct firing.

Our gas and bioethanol fireplaces are also extremely efficient, and both fuels burn with virtually no residue or odor. Gas also emits less than other fuels. Wind gas, which is generated from surplus electricity from renewable sources, is particularly environmentally friendly. Bioethanol, like wood, is CO₂-neutral because it is produced mainly from natural ingredients and biological waste and therefore releases only as much CO₂ during combustion as the plants it contains have previously absorbed from the atmosphere.

WATER-BEARING FIREPLACES — FOR EFFICIENT USE OF ENERGY

A water-bearing fireplace offers you optimum self-sufficiency and security of supply, and is also particularly sustainable thanks to the dual use of the heat generated by the fireplace. Part of the heat is used to heat the heating water, which not only warms the living space directly, but also provides additional energy for the heating system. This, in turn, can be used for space heating or central water heating.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION AT SPARTHERM®: A GLANCE BEHIND THE SCENES

The topic of sustainability was given a particularly important status in our production many years ago. This begins on the roofs of our production facilities: they are equipped with a large-scale photovoltaic system that supplies 33% of the energy required in production. Only recently, the painting process was changed in such a way that 20,000 liters of solvent can be saved in the future. All our products are safely and environmentally packed in a structure made of untreated wood. This packaging can then be used as firewood. The film used is also 100% recyclable.

SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION

The new Building Energy Act is due to come into force on January 1, 2024. In the first step, this will have no effect on your Spartherm fireplace system, as single-room fireplaces will continue to be permitted. The only exception: outdated fireplaces that were approved between 1995 and the end of March 2010 must be replaced in order to comply with the 2nd stage of the 1st BImSchV. This regulation is fully met by all our current models. This means that you can use them completely and without restrictions, according to the current legal situation.
