Heat accumulator
In times in which the energy prices and the scarcity of resources are continuously increasing, the efficiency in the heat production and storage is a factor that becomes more and more important.
Magnetherm, Thermobox are the innovative possibilities in order to use energy the leakage of which is accepted by others. In this area, Spartherm offers solutions that are very precious from both, an economic and an ecologic point of view.
All systems use the warm outlet air of the fireplace to store it using special stones (Magnetherm N1 and N2) and/or granulate (Magnetherm S in einer Thermobox).
Magnetherm N1 und N2
The Magnetherm heat storage stones are another alternative. These are highly compressed, burnt storage stones containing magnesite and having a high apparent density of 2.9 kg/dm³. Thus, they have a similar density as for example soapstone. Due to the enormous thermal conductivity and storage capacity, Magnetherm storage stones are perfectly suitable as wall around your Spartherm fireplace system. The installation is possible in systems that are used as hot air system, combined system storage/hot air, hypocaust system or as enclosed system.
Thermobox
Another application for Magnetherm S is the Spartherm Thermobox with Magnetherm bulk material weighing 100 kg. The Thermobox is available for Spartherm fireplace inserts with horizontal flue spigot: for Speedy K, M, MR, R, and 1 V. The stored heat is emitted via the outer skin with a constant and long storage time of up to 5 hours.

Here, the principle of action is based on the utilisation of the heat of the hot flue gases emitted to a storage medium (see scheme on the left). The decrease in the exhaust gas temperature at the top exhaust connection is ca. 120 degrees Celsius; moreover, with the small dimensions 41 x 54 x 48 cm, the space required for the Thermobox is not asked too much. Compared with outdated and less efficient options like e.g. storage rings, the advantages are obvious: |
